Laser Eye Surgery

Laser eye surgery corrects short-sightedness, long-sightedness, and astigmatism. Laser eye surgery is a permanent change that reduces or eliminates your need to wear glasses or contact lenses. Your doctor will examine your eyes and will help you decide which option suits you best.

Lens-Surgery

Lens Surgery

There are two main types of lens surgery: phakic intraocular lens (PIOL) surgery and refractive lens exchange (RLE). PIOL could be a better option for younger people who can not have laser eye surgery because of high eye prescription or a high degree of astigmatism. During PIOL surgery, artificial lenses are placed in your eyes. It is like building contact lenses into your eyes. You can do things that you normally can not do with contact lenses such as swimming.

RLE may be a good option if you are older and you are not suitable for laser eye surgery. RLE is like cataract surgery, the natural lens in your eye is removed and replaced with an artificial one.
